Microsoft is now introducing a preview feature for SharePoint pages and news, which may be of interest to those using these platforms. This feature allows authors to see how a page will appear on different devices before it is published.
Page and News Preview
To access the preview mode, click "Preview" in the command bar when editing or viewing a page or news. In this mode, no changes can be made, ensuring that you get an accurate view of how the content will appear to users.
Mobile Device Customization
In preview mode, you can switch between desktop and mobile views. For news, there is also the option to see how a news item will look in an email format if it is to be sent out via email. You can adjust how flexible sections are displayed on mobile devices by changing the order of the web parts in the section settings.
New: Animation Effects
Another new feature is animation effects for certain web part components, such as "People," "Quick Links," and "Hero." These web part components slide into view when they appear on the screen. The animation is enabled by default but can be turned off in the web part settings.
Availability and Future Updates
The feature has begun rolling out to customers in the Targeted Release program and is expected to be available to all users by the end of April. Microsoft is also considering additional customization options for mobile view.
